Whenever January 31st rolls around I am always astonished at how quickly 365 days can pass. Naturally, the start of the New Year is a time to reflect on the time that has passed, and look forward to what next year has in store. While 2013 may not have found this Wannabe Wanderer on the open road much, it was certainly very good to me in other ways. Staying put allowed for much time spent living in and exploring one of my favourite cities in the world, vacationing with family at our beloved cabin along the picturesque Ottawa River, and taking the plunge in sharing my written word with the world (or at least my very small corner of it). People really do make the place, and as those closest to me continue to disperse and follow their own life journeys, I found myself especially grateful this year for how often we were able to connect.
Looking ahead, 2014 already promises to be a good one with plenty of adventure on the horizon (Spoiler alert: Next up is Iceland in February, followed by New York City in the spring! Much more to come on this later…)
Thanks to the fun and easy-to-use app Flipagram, I was able to collect some of my Insta-memories from 2013 into a short video. Wishing you all a year full of love, good health and travel, and as always, thanks for following along!
